Lookin like a Baby!

Yesterday we had our final appointment with the specialist. We decided to go through the Triple Screen test. This test checks for chromosonal abnormalities. One of which is down syndrome. We decided that even though we want everything else to be a surprise, we would like to be prepared if our baby comes out not right.

30 min prior to the appointment I had to drink some caffeine to wake up the little one. As most of you know my soft drink of choice is mountain dew. And so far I haven't missed my trusty afternoon friend. So I decided to have one. OMG! The first taste I almost gagged. I can't believe I actually liked that stuff! But I was able to finish it off. Well, it didn't wake up our baby one bit!! It was snuggled in taking a nap. The ultrasound tech was able to get it to move after she pushed on my belly. It was stretching out it's arms and legs and finally did a somersault.

This was by far the most amazing appointment we've had yet. It actually really looks like a baby! Even though we were there for a serious matter we were able to cherish the pictures before our eyes. As you can see from the picture our baby has awesome legs and a little butt! We know our child is doomed for a small booty since Chris' grandma Mimi always called him no-butt and I was called plywood in grade school.

Now this picture makes it look like we have an armless child. But I assure you it's only the camera angle. There ARE arms!! The baby measures about 4 inches. We read in a book that if a child would grow at the rate it does the first trimester, within the first year the child would be 15 feet tall!

I will be going to my regular OB doctor now and won't have another appointment until the end of March. I'll continue to blog once a week as I'm sure there will be something to talk about.

I'm slowly getting energy back. And I'm still growing!

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes and prayers. We love you all!
