It's still there!

On Tuesday we had another ultrasound. And thankfully, the baby is still there! Even though I'm growing out it's still so early that you don't feel anything movin in there. So, I was able to sleep a little more sound on Tuesday night, knowing it's still snug in my tummy.

It's amazing how many questions you get right when you tell someone. So, just in case you forgot to ask the all important questions, here are the answers.

1. Are you going to find out what it is? No. God gives you so few amazing suprises and this is one we want to wait for.

2. Are you going to tell the names? No. You are all going to have to wait!!

3. How much time are you taking off? 12 awesome weeks! And yes, I'm going back to work.

4. Have you been craving anything? The only thing has been those Hostess Cherry Pies. Chris thinks they are so gross!

5. How have the dogs been? I'm pretty sure the dogs know. Benz has always been a mommies boy, so he's always by my side. And of course both of them need our attention daily. We'll see how they react to some little person screaming. I'm sure they will not think a thing of it.

Flatu...what?

So the books I've been reading all cover one important pregnancy fact. Pregnant women have an increase in flatulence. Now most of you that are reading our blog know me pretty well, and know that I've always been able to hold my own when it comes to burping or farting, okay flatulence being the technical term.

Part of my problem is the fact that I love foods that make you have gas. Beans, broccoli, cabbage....And it's really hard for me to give up the foods I love.

My body has been gracious to my co-workers though. I don't have a problem during the day, but poor Chris has to use ear plugs at night to drown out the aweful noises that are coming from his wife's little body. And believe me, sitting on a leather recliner amplifies the issue even more.

I have a feeling this is going to be something that continues throughout the pregnancy. So those closest to me.........I'm apologizing now. But occassionally I find myself laughing at what crazy noises I am generating. Maybe you all can find some humor in it to.

News is Out

We spent Saturday telling our families, and although it was so much fun to finally share our news, I was exhausted! Sunday we went to Gap to look for maternity pants and I was just in a frumpy mood. Everything was for VERY pregnant women. I finally went to Motherhood, what a different world. There were some stylish things, but not only am I in an early stage, but in between seasons, just my luck. I don't think I'll be sportin a swimsuit anytime soon. Do those people know what the weather is like here in Nebraska, it was what 20 degrees today! Seriously. At least the more people we tell, the more offers I have to go through my friends maternity closets! For fun I did try on a pair of Chris' pants. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Thank goodness they were too big!! Whew!

As hard as we tried to keep our little secret under wraps, it didn't work out so good for a couple of people, I guess they know us too well. I did have some fun tormenting my friend Shelly........sorry Shelly, it was fun for me though.

The Hearts a Beatin!

We had our 3rd ultrasound today. Everything is normal. The little thing is growing normally. We heard the heartbeat, it was breath taking. 158 beats per minute. 160-180 is normal range, so we're good. According to the ultrasound tech we are at 9 weeks and 1 day! We've decided to tell our families this weekend. My nephew Brock is leaving for Florida for school and we want to share our good news with everyone in person before he leaves. I can't wait.

I don't think any of our family suspects. My friends on the other hand have a "theory". Shelly and Nicole think I'm pregnant and that I'm waiting for my first trimester. Well, they're right, BUT I've tricked them into believing it didn't work out and I just don't want to talk about it. Nicole called me out about drinking an O'Douls at the Creighton game. I told her it was just a small glass.

This past weekend I broke down and bought some maternity pants. My normal pants are just ridiculous. Having a wedgie all day is not comfortable. I wore them for the first time today. They are sooo awesome. They have these not so attractive elastic bands on the sides that I'll have to get used to. Not so sure I want to ever get used to maternity clothes though.

Proving it to Ourselves

The day we found out was totally surreal. It still hasn't quite sunk in yet. A few days after we heard from the doctor Chris got a pregnancy test so we could prove it to ourselves. Funny how we didn't quite believe our doctor. So here it is. Our first Positive pregnancy test. We went through several heart breaking negative one's that it's awesome to see those 2 lines!

We've been researching baby stuff the past few weeks. Think I've found the nursery furniture. Today we are to research car seats, fun stuff!

The other day Chris came home and had to tell me about a revolution he had. He was out to eat with some friends and this lady had an upset child. For the first time Chris was not the annoyed fatherless guy, he said he actually felt sorry for the little guy! Mark this day down. What a great dad he's going to be.
