FEEEEEED Me!

We have started cereal!! And my mother is so happy. Things aren't like they "used" to be you know. When we went for Zoey's 4 month checkup Dr. Pat said we could start cereal anytime. We waited a couple of weeks because Zoey got a cold and we started putting her in her crib. So change in small doses is good for her AND for me. She loves the cereal. She eats like a normal human, not like everyone was telling us she would. That's because she is so smart!

We are still working out the timing though. Can't be too close to her last bottle for the night or she's really crabby. Last night she pretty much ate while she slept. And if you don't shovel it in fast enough she lets you know. It's so exciting to see all the new things she does.

Uncle Dan

Today's blog features Uncle Dan. He came up this past Saturday and spent a little time with Zoey. Of course I had document the moment. It was so cute. Zoey right away put her head on Dan's shoulder. She was giving him extra loves that day. For whatever reason she didn't go after the beard though. Lucky guy. Next time maybe!

Kenny......

Those of you who know me well know that I absolutely LOVE Kenny Chesney. My friend Micaela had this t-shirt made for Zoey. I'm so excited she's big enough to finally wear it. And how fitting....right around Valentine's day. I only took 30 or so pictures of her, trying to get a decent expression. This was the best we could do.

Sometimes I like to play professional photographer. I think that is what I was doing on the second picture. Zoey is so cute, why wouldn't I want to take pictures of her all day.

She has been doing so well. This is a great age I've decided. Do they have to grow up? I'm going to miss the days of her tooting on my arm when I'm carrying her to her bath, her falling asleep on my shoulder, spitting cereal and all the baby things. I'm not going to let her grow up too fast. It took us long enough to get her here in the first place!

Many Activities

We are filling up the days with so many different activities now that Zoey is a little older. She can stand and hold herself up to play in her exersaucer. She likes to play the music and spin around. But, beware! She must be able to see you too, or she gets upset quickly. She definitely has mommy radar.

Her other past time is what else? But watching football with Dad. I think he's hoping if he starts her early she won't complain like I do about having football on every single night! We'll see how Dad reacts when she wants to watch Handy Manny instead of football. I'm sure he'll give in. Zoey melts her daddy's heart everyday when he drops her off at school. Some days I get a call from Chris saying he had to stay just a little longer as she was giving him "don't leave me" eyes!

Ms. Photogenic

Here are two other pictures from her 3 month photos. Hard to believe this was just a month ago! She definitely showed her personality during the photo session. She kept putting her hads up to her face trying to suck her fingers. The next time we get pictures taken will probably be around 6 months. By then hopefully she will be sitting up by herself. Guess mom better start shopping for cute outfits! It's so hard not to buy all the spring stuff that's out now. She is growing so fast. I look at pictures from when she was first born and can't believe how little she was. Everyone is right when they say they grow so fast. I could keep her at this age forever!

Our first cold.

Zoey has officially gotten her first cold. It's basically a nasty cough runny nose. It started a week ago. We went back to the doctor on Friday and we have to treat her with a nubulizer. Needless to say MANY of my friends own these machines, so we didn't have to purchase one. She is a trooper. She just sits there while we hold the mask in front of her.

It is starting to get better. But nothing breaks your heart more than when your little one is sick and you can't take it away from her. I try to focus on the positive that we were able to get through her first 4 months of life without a cold. And with each cold her body is only getting stronger than it already is.

Our run of nights of sleeping through were short lived. But I know they will return soon.....we hope! We hope that you and your families are healthy and stay that way.

Saying goodbye to 2008

I haven't been able to blog on a regular basis it seems. Time flies by so fast each and everyday. Here are a couple of pictures of Zoey. The first one was just me snapping some photos of this cute outfit my boss and his family gave us. And the expression on her face?.............need I say more. It's absolutely hilarious.

The second photo is from New Year's Eve. We went just up the street to the Miko's. I did manage to make it to midnight, then went right home with Zoey. She rang in the new year like no other....asleep on the couch. Our friend Jennifer put the confetti popper in her hand to show that she was celebrating too. Jan.1 2008 is the day we found out I was pregnant. Cannot believe that was a year ago already. I would do it all over again!

Meet Lucy!

Look at this photo! How precious is she. Zoey got this little blanket zebra from our friend Nicole. Zoey took to it right away and falls asleep with it by her face. It's just the right size. We decided to give her a name. Lucy. So now if we call out "Where's Lucy?" you all know what to look for.

Zoey loves to snuggle up, suck her thumb and hug Lucy.
These are the times that life is so worth living for!

4 Month Check Up

Zoey had her 4 month check up today. Of course being the documenting type mom that I am I took my camera. Here is a photo of Zoey and Dr. Pat. Now you can all see her cubby baby thighs. She's so adorable.

She officially got her first cold. She has an icky cough, but we are hopeful to make it through. I feel pretty good that she's gotten through 4 months of her life without any bugs! Knock on wood.

We can start feeding Zoey cereal at anytime now. We think she is definitely ready.

Today she weighed 14lbs. 3oz. And is 24" tall. For the most part she is in the 50 percentile for everything. Her head is a little larger than the 50%. But we attribute that to her big brains! She's really smart!

Chris is still trying to convince me that she needs to move up to her room. I think, no I KNOW I'm not ready, but I have to let her go. Ugh, I don't think I'll be able to sleep a wink!

Zoey is 99.9% rolling over. She still gets high centered on her one arm. But it won't be too long and she will be mobile. Hope we're ready!
